“From an architectural standpoint, I can literally get a better view of what it is I’m working on,” said Ryan Murphy, an architect and president of Shamrock Drones in Savannah. “I can pull off to the side of the road when I see something and put this [drone] in the air because it fits in a shoulder bag. The logistics make it easy.”
Drones also can create d# mapping of a building site or a structure, he added.
“We can size windows and doors and openings, and calculated roof areas and things like that,” said Murphy. “Things that would take the average person out in the field for several hours or days with a pen and paper, and maybe a laser measuring tool, can be generated in just a couple hours a lot of the time.”
